Unpub badge and tables bought! The plan is to playtest for less time this coming year. I noticed this year that I was a bit more wiped than some years after playtesting; I think it has something to do with I tend to make shorter games. I don’t think I always need the longer block. But we will see.

Jesus is coming! Are you ready? Have you repented of sins? Asked for forgiveness? Stopped sinning as much as a human can possibly do as they are not perfect? Are you loving to others? Do you have good fruit? Do you show mercy to others? Do you talk to Jesus regularly aside from church, bed & meals?

Mark 4:24-25
And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. For to the one who has, more will be given, and the from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”

Jesus died on the cross to save you from your sins. He rose from the dead on the 3rd day. He wants you to know Him by establishing a relationship with Him. Just pray to Him, it doesn’t have to be out loud; it can be in your head. Father God, I have sinned; have mercy on me. In Jesus’s Name Amen.

Call on Jesus whenever you are afraid. Whenever you have doubts or are worried about something call on Jesus. He will be there for you. He can help you out. Just say or think whatever comes to mind, He will hear you. He loves you. He doesn’t want you to die & go to hell or get hurt. He created you.

Get right with God. Start your prayer life with Jesus. Pray whether out loud or in your head, Lord Jesus, I’m sinner have mercy on me. In Jesus’ Name Amen. That’s it. You can start there. But going forward beyond that, just talk with Him like you would a friend. Jesus loves you and wants to save you

Last night, I played the full game solo in 40 minutes, 4 player. It was pretty good, but I was wondering if Jokers were OP or not. I like the excitement of pulling a joker or jokers, but I’ll have to see that automatically decides who wins or not. Tonight or tomorrow, I think I’ll try another way.

I think I might try the age old wisdom “for your first game, keep things simple”. I think over the years I keep getting into head spaces of I don’t know where to go from here. So I’m going to my roots and working on a card game. It’s called Don’t Shoot the Baboon. Trick taking light on theme game

Idk. I feel like there are enough games out there with hurtful interactions.
So I guess I'm attempting to flip that on its head:
Hunter blocks unsafe animals.
Builder blocks unsafe structures.
Gardener blocks unsafe terrain.
Seeker* blocks unsafe materials.

Also with it being called Blok, you have an opportunity to make use of block in some way beyond physical blocks. Maybe a positive interaction could be allowing players to block harmful actions not on their turn? Idk your audience that well, but for a nature game, I think I want something soothing.

I’m not sure if I’m getting anywhere beyond that. I do tend to write a lot down even if it is not related as it might jog something else in my brain.

Or the age old thing might be Hunters and Gatherers. So the Seeker slot collects something and then gets rewarded at their destination. While the Hunter hunts animals or a Ranger gains points on how often their trail gets used so there's planning involved with making the tunnels or something?

Or when I say it fits better, I mean saying "Hunter, Builder, Gardener and Settler" rolls off the tongue better.

I guess I'm trying to balance out an imaginary coin. Builder & Gardener already have an interaction, so I'm looking for what can balance out Hunter?
