I made an announcement on patreon that the next episode was going to be on Codenames, and I had the full script and plan for the episode done.

I'm not going forward with the episode unless something is done about this, which is a shame.

Kingdom Builder is one of my favorite games of all time because of this. I can teach it in under five minutes and we can play it for hours and still find new ways the simple rules reveal emergent complexities.

It's one of the reasons why I say to set the goal as part of "the big three" that I recommend everyone set up at the top of their teach! It's in every episode over on youtube.com/@howtoteachtabletop :D

My biggest piece of advice is to understand what the minimum number of rules is to play.

Not win. Not strategize. Not anything like that, just directed play.

So, one of the things you can do is ask yourself what a player needs to be doing at the start and what do they need to know to do that?
