I wanted this to be a secret stitch sampler so I used chainstitch, backstitch, satin stitch, brick stitch, long-and-short, and French knots to recreate this 90s TV dinner extravaganza!

For 15.45 I can buy cross stitch patterns of all 150 of the jokers from balatro

Blackwork embroidery on linen. It’s a circular design of a thread being unraveled from a bobbin, a sleeved hand sewing with the thread, & the thread being cut by a pair of bird scissors. It’s circular so that the process of sewing is repeated 4 times. There’s a square border surrounding everything. It’s unfinished but about 60% done.

ShadedStitchery describes this as “At the 1900 Paris World Fair, a set of hand-drawn charts, graphs, and diagrams debuted that captured the African American experience for the world's eyes. These bold, eye-catching infographics were the brainchild of W.E.B. Du Bois, noted American sociologist, historian, civil-rights activist, Pan-Africanist, author, and editor. This stitch features a collage of my interpretations of the infographics, paying homage to his work and the sheer fact that this data exists.”

Ugh i also really want to make their other design, Data Portraits in Paris 1900. But I think I’m going to wait to join their 2026 SAL that is also inspired by W.E.B. Du Bois’s charts…. But uggh want to make this bad
