Haha sounds about right. I saw APC a couple years before I finally got to see Tool; then caught them 4x that year (did the screen thing for at least two of those, so maybe same tour). They were my first post-lockdown show too. Always great- couldnโt miss the sphere if they do it. Enjoy Metallica! ๐ค๐ป
Iโm already halfway through mentally auctioning-off the house for Tool there if it happens, even though my initial reaction was pointing out the irony. Then I pictured what Iโve seen them do at crappy venues happening there for about two secondsโฆ and the decision was made.
Caught them on the Black Gives Way to Blue tour and it was pretty solid. Plenty Iโve missed though; still kicking myself for not catching Soundgarden for $60 at a medium venue in the 00s, or Fogerty ever, and to a lesser extent Rage (prior to the price-gouge reunion- happy not to go now).

Yessir! That *click* inside you when you recognize a still or a split second, or suddenly have dozens of previous references which flew over your head come rushing back to you all at once cause youโre finally in on it.

Like every time I meet someone who hasnโt watched The Shawshank Redemption or Breaking Bad etc; Iโm JEALOUS. What I wouldnโt give to watch my 100 favorite movies/series for the 1st (or even 2nd) time again.
People often make fun of othersโ odd information/pop-culture-gaps, but I say itโs great when applied to movies.
Filling in the blind spots and seeing some all-timers youโve missed is such a treat, and that thankfully happened to me last nightโฆ
