Commentary: Packaging Reduction Act will not only help the environment, it willย save cities money Municipalities bear the expense of recycling packagingย or sending it to the landfill. Taxpayers shouldnโ€™t have to pay more each year to manage a problem they didnโ€™t create.

A @TimesUnion.com op-ed by Sam Fein shows how the Packaging Reduction & Recycling Infrastructure Act will cut plastic waste in Albany and save taxpayers.

The bill cuts plastic packaging 30% in 12 years and requires 75% reuse/recycling by 2052.
