Again, it is a full-blown federal felony crime for anyone in the White House or Executive Office of the President to order tax investigations into anyone.

And it's not just a crime to DO it, it's even a federal crime for an employee not to REPORT such an order to the Treasury Inspector General.

I know it's a dead horse by now, but this story would have been a 5 alarm scandal in any non-Trump presidency let alone a D one. You wouldn't be able to turn in the TV without watching a news anchor asking a senator when they'd be calling for the president to resign.

Jacob Soboroff is very brave for this reporting. At a time when other news outlets are cowering in fear, he's fulfilling the highest order of journalism, which is truth telling and holding the powerful accountable.

You have to understand that there is NO accountability for ICE even in theory. You can't sue an ICE agent. They won't be criminally prosecuted for violating your rights. They won't be fired. THE ONLY WAY TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM ICE IS TO RUN FROM ICE.

One of my only remaining joys is that every single time Amy Coney Barrett makes a stupid argument, Ketanji Brown Jackson gets a chance to follow up and illustrate her stupidity.
