Why do you mention the Netherlands? Just curious as I am Dutch :-). We also do eat a lot of processed food I am afraid although not as much as in the US. I believe!

Trumps 'talent': het demonteren van de wereldeconomie - Reporters Online Peter Giesen schreef  1 augustus in de Volkskrant over Trumps 'politieke talent' in de wereldhandel. Hij presenteerde Trump als een winnaar die andere landen succesvol intimideert met importheffingen....

Er stond 1 augustus een lang stuk in de Volkskrant dat stelde dat Trumps 'de grote winnaar van de strijd om de wereldhandel' is. Ik reageerde daar op met een opiniestuk, dat de Volkskrant echter niet wil plaatsen.

Dit moeten ze echt plaatsen, steengoede reactie op belachelijk stuk in de VK. Dat ik, door de titel, bewust had overgeslagen.

Our King is 'only'1.83 and our queen 1.78, (5'10). He is def not taller than her. In the Netherlands he would be considered very short, avg women height. Also look at the difference of Trump and Mark Rutte (1.93) 😆

Unfortunately in the Netherlands we have a very short-sighted right wing government. A silver lining is that the popularity of the biggest party (PVV Geert Wilders) is rapidly decreasing due to their incompetence and Trump flirting. Hopefully the coalition "falls" soon and we can have new elections

This is happening worldwide at the worst possible time: countries are CUTTING funding for unis & research just when they need to be pouring more money into both.
It's nuts. It's so bad in New Zealand that my peers there are all looking for jobs overseas; those in Canada & EU just barely hanging on.
