As far as toilet training...I really really doubt it. For all that owls are seen as symbols of wisdom, they are ~remarkably~ dumb according to raptor experts. Their eyes take up so much room that there isn't much left for brains.

They most likely mean "the entire group we're talking about consumes x amount", not "each individual consumes x amount independently".
