Also obviously fuck him for being transphobic, but can we stop rewarding literally incorrect historians peddling misinformation and then taking it away for a reason TOTALLY UNRELATED to the history and misinformation?

And I'm so sick of him almost getting historical awards and his transphobia being the reason he doesn't get them.

He threw a fit when multiple Holocaust museums requested schools not teach the Boy in Striped Pyjamas as fact. HE SHOULDN'T GET A HISTORICAL AWARD BECAUSE HE'S A SHIT HISTORIAN.

For the sake of my own peace of mind:

Stop considering John Boyne for historical awards. He's not a historian. He's a (relatively conservative) fiction writer with an interest in history who occasionally writes decent historical fiction. Stop considering him as more than an author.
