These bad ideas are literally like mind parasites infecting our mind like a pathogen. The question is how do we get immunity from bad ideas, activate our rational faculties and align our beliefs with reality?

Ideas can spread despite being delusional, destructive and just downright false. When these false ideas work their way into our system of beliefs, the system doesn’t serve us well. The system becomes dysfunctional and resistant to belief revision.

I’ve also read A Short Stay, and enjoyed it. I’ve listened to Jesus and John Wayne but did it at a busy time of life so I don’t remember a lot of details so I did vote for it and Kingdom of Nauvoo.

Yeah, sometimes I’ll listen to a book and retain a lot of the info, but other times in one ear and out the other. I think not remembering this one was due to information overload.

Listened to Jesus and John Wayne a year or so ago while on a business trip for training. I remember enjoying it, but not many of the details.

I don’t know the story of how it was written, but I have read and have a copy of the book. I would definitely re-read it.
