Another wonderful day out at Chiswick Dog Show at the weekend, delighted to have been asked back to judge for the second year in a row. It was also great to catch up with Blue Cross, who I visited in Hammersmith in August, at their stall.

I welcome the announcement from the Prime Minister that the UK now recognises the Palestinian state. This is a significant and important step that sets out our intended future relationship with the Middle East – one where there is a secure Israel and Palestinian state, including Gaza and the West Bank under the control of Palestinians. However, there can be no two-state solution if there is no viable state left to call Palestine. The horrific and ongoing killing of so many innocent civilians in Gaza is appalling and heartbreaking, and this intentional destruction of Palestinian life in Gaza cannot go on. There must be an immediate return to a ceasefire. Hostages held in appalling conditions must be released without delay, much needed aid let in and the people of Gaza should be able to return to what is left of their homes and start rebuilding their shattered lives.

Mourning the death of my friend Iain Coleman. Iain was MP for Hammersmith and Fulham 1997-2005 and Leader of Hammersmith and Fulham Council 1991-96. A man of infinite compassion and great political skill, but best remembered as someone who just made life interesting and fun.

Some hope among the tragedy and bloodshed in Palestine as Britain joins Canada, Australia and France in recognising the State of Palestine.

Proud to see Ambassador Husam Zomlot raise the Palestinian flag over his Embassy here in Hammersmith yesterday.

It was great to be at the official opening of the new Chiswick Health Centre last week. A very impressive new NHS building incorporating 3 GP practices, a range of NHS services and community space for residents to enjoy.

The troubling findings of Baroness Harman’s independent review of bullying, harassment & sexual harassment are primarily for the Bar itself & for the judiciary to address, but I asked if the Government support the recommendations & what can they do to ensure they are implemented.

A great day out at Tidefest on Sunday! It was brilliant to see so many people enjoying the Thames and being able to do so safely thanks to the huge efforts that have gone into cleaning it up and keeping it free of pollution and rubbish.

I asked the Minister today if he thinks that the postponed French-Saudi conference on a two-state solution, which may take place as early as next month, will provide the significant opportunity that he seeks to recognise Palestine as a state alongside UK allies.

I spoke this afternoon in support for the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill. The pain and indignity of a slow and painful death is something none of us would wish on anyone.

The pain, the suffering, the indignity, the degradation of a slow, painful, tortured death is something none of us would wish on a friend, relative, or anyone. If that suffering, in the narrow circumstances described in this bill, can be avoided, we should do so.'
