On this day when we commemorate Victory in Europe Day, I am thinking of my parents and their generation. They endured so much, so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. As those who endured the war pass on it falls to our generation to pass on the lessons of that war.

According to the House of Commons Library in 2024, there were 55 sewage discharges into waterbodies in Eltham and Chislehurst from 2 storm overflows. In total, these sewage discharges lasted for 153 hours.
