The Independent Commission on Neighbourhoods visited Sunderland last month, led by Baroness Hilary Armstrong and joined by Commissioners David Halpern CBE and Matt Leach.

Caitlin and Naomi join a board of dedicated commissioners who are supporting ICON to deliver its final report later this year.

The Independent Commission on Neighbourhoods is delighted to welcome two new commissioners, Naomi Eisenstadt CB and Caitlin Prowle.

The group, led by Baroness Hilary Armstrong and joined by commissioner Matt Leach, toured the Birchwood Estate, which has recently been designated a Trailblazer Neighbourhood and will be receiving £20 million of government funding.

Yesterday in Parliament, Luke Akehurst MP highlighted the need for targeting policy at ‘mission critical’ neighbourhoods.

He warned that “if investment isn’t made in these neighbourhoods, we will never achieve national targets”.

Great to see Sureena Brackenridge MP calling for a £1 billion fund for neighbourhood renewal.

Sureena cited ICON’s research, asking “…the minister to take the evidence from ICON as a roadmap for delivery”.
