Apparently (ref 1) means something to whomever wrote the error message you encountered!

Did you try correcting your ref 1? I had a similar experience with an ATM at my local bank - I tried to withdraw $40 and it said the amount had to be under $1000. Now. I’m not much of a maths person but I’m pretty sure 40 < 1000 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
