Even if Washington and Kremlin could force Ukraine to agree to it, they can't dictate the terms to all of EU and NATO.
X has changed their policy and now you can see where the accounts are based.
Hereโs an โinfluencer from Texasโ
Agreements with Russia are not worth the paper they are written on.
If Europe is to have peace, Russia must be defeated.
Iโve been in a room with Putin. He calls Ukrainians โRussians with accents.โ His real fear isnโt NATO expansion, itโs democracy expansion. It shatters his entire argument for dictatorship at home. Because if Ukrainians embrace freedom, Russians may demand the same.

What?
Here Janne tells in no uncertain terms, and way better that I could, how much worth Kremlins promises of not attacking neighbors are. And btw, they already have signed a treaty that guarantees UAs sovereignty.

21.11.2025 16:00 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Putin doesn't want peace. He just wants a breather to regroup his forces before resuming the war. He wants victory over Ukraine, NATO and the US.
Giving him that breather would make a larger war in Europe more, not less, likely.
It would also show China that the West is weak and undecisive.
Likely they have not thought of much of anything at all.
A ceasefire in Ukraine with such favorable terms to Russia would free up Russia's resources. That would make a war between Russia and NATO in the near future *more* likely, not less so.
Europe would have to ramp up its rearmament with haste.
Analysts are dumb and the markets are irrational.
Good buying opportunities for those who understand that peace in Ukraine would see European defence investments soar, not drop.
Russia promised this already in 1994

And what might have happened if Western democracies had reacted faster and more decisively?

21.11.2025 10:15 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The ABSOLUTE MINIMUM demands Ukraine should insist on in negotiations:
- The absolute maximum territory Russia can claim is what it already controls
- No limits on Ukraineโs armed forces
- Russia pays war reparations
- No Russian influence over Ukraineโs internal politics
Putin hasnโt given up trying to use Trump to seize the parts of Ukraine he canโt take militarily. It reeks of Russian desperation. Pokrovsk is less than 50 km from where Putin launched his invasion in 2022. Put that in perspective after 1.1 million Russian casualties.
21.11.2025 06:08 โ ๐ 231 ๐ 70 ๐ฌ 12 ๐ 0Trump's leaked peace terms โseem to have been written in Moscow,โ says Finlandโs foreign minister.
Elina Valtonen says neither Ukraine nor its allies could accept such demands. Real talks, she adds, can only begin with a ceasefire, which Russia refuses.

Now thatโs a lede.

Wow.
Just to add to the data points below. US coal exports in 2024 were ~$9.4B.
So far this year, China has exported approximately $60 billion in batteries for battery energy storage systems and components.
They make games and movies like they used to. So many of them. Same with books.
But the mechanisms you learned about them were totally gutted and changed to only amplify shit that's already popular.
It's still there! You're just mostly on your own to find it.
End private academic publishers.
Public research should be a public good.
Coal, gas, and oil plants kill far more people every year than nuclear power has ever killed, including all of the accidents.
But because it doesn't happen all at once and doesn't create dramatic news footage, we don't care.
Let's not pretend it's because nuclear is less safe.
There was a coal plant in the middle of Helsinki for decades. It's virtually guaranteed to have caused more death and illness than all the world's nuclear reactors combined. A single coal plant.
That's how twisted our perceptions of nuclear safety are, thanks to decades of anti-nuclear propaganda.
We should permit SMRs inside industrial areas and in cities.
