I really hope Nintendo's video game mechanic patents are all rejected.

These patents are a threat to the video game industry. They are so broad in scope that it'll HEAVILY restrict what other studio outside of Nintendo can do. It'll stifle creativity.

Game mechanics should NEVER be patented.

I love No Man's Sky, but I just wish expeditions felt like less of a chore to me. Probably doesn't help that the previous one just barely ended

Them being time-gated runs completely counter to what NMS is in my opinion. A chill game where you can take your time and just enjoy the universe

My gripes:
1. the time-gated nature.
2. you start from scratch, and while progression is accelerated, the beginning usually feels super slow
3. they're the only way to get certain rewards

New No Man's Sky expedition dropped. I'll probably try this one too but not gonna lie, if not for the end rewards I'd probably stop doing expeditions altogether (I did skip out on a few before Voyagers

And I can't stress enough how HUGE having active NPCs you assign to your base in a survival sandbox is to me. It makes bases feel ALIVE and it's something I feel a lot of games of this kind could use

Save for the ones where you're obviously supposed to be alone, like Subnautica

Y'know, I didn't expect Palworld to be this fun. I thought it was going to be a shitpost game but I've honestly been having a blast.

It's such a good blend of a creature collector and survival sandbox, it feels like playing multiple games at once in a good way

My player character, which I modeled after my OC Carilly (hence the color palette and beefy shoulders) crossing arms while standing in front of my corvette.

Similar but with a mech in the back. There are some farm domes in the background. They don't farm aura.

More of the same, now standing on TOP of the corvette, with a turret in the back. Very intense lighting, though I kinda wish I had managed to make the background more visible without sacrificing the vibes.

A Korvax settlement front and center, a huge planet in the backdrop. I don't remember if this is in the morning or in the evening.

I need to NMS-post again because I found a GORGEOUS arid moon. No storms. Vaporwave vibes. Awesome rock formations. AND I found a settlement on it that I've been working on. It's so good I've decided this is going to be my new homebase.

My first corvette. Was supposed to resemble a turtle but kinda wound up looking like a diving beetle. I'm not complaining, though.

The interior of the ship during an autopilot-controlled pulse jump. You can just tell the autopilot to go to a planet and it'll do that for you, meanwhile you can just walk around the ship. Cool as hell.

Okay, so far? This might be my favorite update they've done. You can put stuff INSIDE the ship. and set an autopilot somewhere and walk around it. You still pilot it like a regular starship but it has some of the functionality of a freighter AND a good deal more customizeability. They COOKED.

Hold up. New No Man's Sky update. A NEW SHIP CLASS THAT'S FULLY CUSTOMIZEABLE?? HELLO?? YOU ACTUALLY ASSEMBLE THEM PIECE BY PIECE LIKE LEGOS???
