The Nation That Trump Could Never Break
Canada didn’t just resist, they reminded the rest of us how to endure
“…this morning, from a war zone half a world away, I was reading about your election. And for the first time in days, I exhaled.
A small, almost invisible breath. Relief.
And then came gratitude…
You didn’t just choose kindness or experience…
You chose not to flirt with fascism.”
From Ukraine.

A cat with a white body and tabby splotches on her face lays on a cat bed looking into the camera. The pink tip of her tongue is sticking out of her mouth.
Happy Caturday from Charlotte, who sometimes forgets about her tongue.

Instead of Checking Social Media, I Eat a Bag of Nails

"While I'm sure substituting my internet leisure time with eating bags of nails isn't healthy either, I've made my decision, and the bags of nails are working for now."

A large brown beaver sits in the water, their lil front paws adorably held up in front of them.
Saw a beaver-shaped friend in the Etobicoke Creek. I think a lot of people who live in Toronto and Mississauga don't realize we have beavers as neighbours, but as long as there's plenty of water and trees, they'll adapt to urban and suburban environments.

Happy International Women's Day. Here's one of my favourite women at the moment; the formidable Rep. Jasmine Crockett. A few more like her, and the tangerine turd is history.
