I've worked a lot with all kinds of networking stuff like UDP and use Godot regularly (though haven't done networking with it but it looks simple enough), don't know anything about SAMMI but the "Send UDP Packet" command looks about how I would expect

I'm hoping to work on some new mechanics and a new location soon but this camera change was necessary for some of the things I want to try out.
Updated the camera to stay more centered behind the vehicle and look more upwards/forwards.
Will likely need some more tweaking but the sense of speed seems better overall and you can more clearly see the lovely sky which is a nice bonus.

Changed my tree models to use quad billboarding, I had wanted to get this kind of shader working for other kinds of trees and bushes mainly but I like how it turned out with these ones. May mix in my old models too for variation but we'll see

Like I'm kind of curious how even something as simple as having a down force may have helped it's stabilization and control
I ended up just using apply_central_force and apply_torque to add all the simulated forces I needed.
Mainly thruster and rotation input forces, air drag forces, down force, and some self straightening forces that try to align the cars facing and velocity direction
For a regular car, not really as I don't use the engine force or steering. I also found it kind of hard to work with.
I guess one tip is be careful with how things are placed in the scene wheel position and center of gravity can make a big difference. Try looking at some real cars center if gravity

Did a longer tour of the scene this time as I might be moving on from it soon with the lessons learned but I may try to get some early NPC cars working first

Made this force visualizer debug tool to help troubleshoot and tune the forces and its pretty fun to watch. Might add some form of it to the dashboard

Was in the shader mines updating the look of the environment, lighting and post processing.
Was inspired by how some Ukiyo-e art depicts distant landscapes features with simple gradients/single colours with just a few additional lines to imply more detail.

Seeing @holographic.pink's use of gradient textures inspired me to use one for the body texture which was a huge help and I am very happy with how it turned out, worked really well for creating the blackout tattoos as well.
