Duran makes a ton of sense to me, given what they got in return, especially if they're concerned about health long-term (which I would be). As for Varland, it sounds like a decent return, but I'd have preferred they keep him around.

Honestly, that's one I have absolutely no reservations about.

Oh, I think he's a starting caliber OFer and, while I like Stewart, you absolutely can't rely on him staying healthy.

So, next year the rotation is Ryan, Lopez, Ober, Sim, Zeb/Fest. The bullpen is sands and whoever loses out on the #5 spot and pick 'em. Lineup includes Keaschall...somewhere (COF, 2B, 1B), Lee, Lewis, Buxton, Jeffers, Wallner, and who knows who else.

Like, if you're going to eat that much of the money, at least get a lottery ticket.
