I am Alaska-grown meat. (It’s almost summer. It was probably a 4.2.) Naps and grilled cheese are on my family’s coat of arms. I show my love through food and spreadsheets. She/her.

The Fifth Element and The Silence of the Lambs Return to Theaters in Fathom's Classics Series - Reactor The Fifth Element is now a classic. Yes, you are that old

I won't ask how you feel about movies released in 2001 being considered classics. I already know.

The pronoun labeler, which was by far the most useful labeler on the site, was deleted by its creator. But thanks to @ripperoni.com there’s a new one available. I highly recommend it. It’s a great way to share your pronouns or see someone else’s pronouns at a glance.

Tree mostly obscuring the view of a bunch of college kids in the snowy street, ready to help motorists, in Columbus Ohio

Feels like society’s really broken down in the US in a way that’s deeply traumatic.

But also there are college students knocking on doors asking for shovels (they’re not well-prepared) and helping trapped motorists by shoveling and pushing out cars. Up to 24 of them now, wandering streets together

It sounds totally awesome, my only concern is whether either affects the temperature of its neighbor. Do you have to eat them quickly?

Democrats need to understand that they can just say “It’s insane to threaten Greenland” and “I don’t think ICE should murder Americans in the street” and you don’t need to pretend to link it to the affordability crisis.

Say bad things are bad.

you simply do not have to preface your statements about this with “but Maduro sucks”

whether or not Maduro sucks is entirely beside the point - we invaded another country and grabbed their leader with no justification other than “we wanted to”

don’t give them cover on it

one unexpected outlook change from being a dad is taking the self care people 10x more seriously when it comes to dealing with weirdly directed anger and rage (including Online). many angry posts should have been naps or little packets of crackers

I read *so* many more books this year, in part because Libby made it easier and more affordable, integrated well with Kindle, and the checkout deadlines were an incentive to read more quickly. They also have audiobooks! And I promise your favorite authors support your local library! Do it!

what I want trans kids, queer kids, and gender nonconforming kids to know:

you are loved

you are so much more powerful than the ghouls using your healthcare as a political pawn, and you WILL outlive them (they know this, and it is why they're attacking you)

I had a former boss who had this laugh he always used when he was ending a meeting. You could hear it through the door and know it was about done.

I need one of those or Luke’s below for “hey, I’m about out of interaction energy now.”

Picture includes Taskmaster Greg Davies sitting imperiously on a throne with his fingers peaked, wearing a paper crown. His assistant, Little Alex Horne, is crouched expectantly on a chair on the other side to make him look smaller, same fingers and paper crown.

Introduce yourself with five concerts you've seen —

Metallica
Todd Snider (still playing a train song for this one)
Alanis Morissette (Or can I cheat and say Lilith Fair? It makes me feel better about the gender balance here.)
Mike Doughty
Flight of the Conchords
