Agreed! Election day 2025 is a ray of light in this ever darkening world. People are waking up. In Cali we passed Prop 50 by nearly a 2-1 margin to counter the Texas Gerrymander. People know what is at stake.

This is also why we give prosecutors pretty wide latitude in choosing what to send to trial. Sometimes everyone agrees application of the law would be a miscarriage of justice.

This is why it is so important that laws be designed from the beginning to be just, and why courts and judges must consider the interpretation and execution of law when enacted to ensure the law bends toward justice.

That's the point. You can't discuss nullification. If word ever gets back to the judge it will become a mistrial. Sadly, a trial is about adherence to the Law. It isn't about justice. If you want justice via nullification you must simply vote to acquit and stick to it (and hope others do too).

Re the death of Dick Cheney, it is worth reflecting on the inflection point in this chart when considering his legacy.

Nullification is good to know about and understand, but not something you ever want to bring up within a mile of a court house. You can act to nullify personally. But if you voice any thought of it you'll pretty much guarantee a mistrial.

There are many places (like logistics, manufacturing, wave form analysis, weather) where "AI" - machine learning is the better term - can do amazing things. But these systems are trained on VERY carefully curated data sets with known pedigrees. Slurping the internet is just GIGO.

It is very important to remember that LLMs are DESIGNED to return a "plausible" answer, but the models have no actual way to verify their answers as factual (because the language they train on cannot be guaranteed as factual).
