So many lines live in infamy! And if you happen to have grown up around the TVA, there’s a small moment in a before the flood when your heart sinks because you understand from neighbors’ (or your own) history what is happening.

Health care is a basic human right. If Congress makes cuts to Medicaid, rural hospitals will close, jobs will be lost and our families will be forced to drive hours for a regular appointment. That ain’t right and you deserve better.

Same. Except also I still remember my (long gone) childhood home landline and the number for what’s on at the local movie theater in the small town I grew up in. So, if those ever come in handy.

And the people are lovely. We so enjoyed our visit and hope to return ❤️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I see ppl explaining their user name so: My dad gave me the Patsycat moniker (my name is Patsy) when I was a tot. It had something to do with Ladybird Johnson and Dad’s odd sense of humor. It remained his lifelong affectionate nickname for me. Longtime friends and fam know, and now you do, too.

We watch BoB every winter. It was our daughter’s first viewing and she was INVESTED. She kept texting reactions to her older brother (who has seen it a couple of times). That was as cool as the program this time around.

Backyard snap. I love a winter moon.

It was my first moment of: omg, people read what I write. It also gave me brand new perspective on a major historical event, and convinced me that history is personal. Remember Pearl Harbor.

Pearl Harbor day. I look back today and remember my experience as a 22-year-old newspaper reporter having been told to find local Pearl Harbor vets and interview them. I was proud of the result. Families of three of them called after publication to express their gratitude.

My cover photo is from our trip to Scotland - walking up Arthur’s Seat in Holyrood Park. The Hubs and I are trying to travel big every couple of years now that the kids are grown. First was Ireland, then Scotland, and next: Greece! So excited.

Hoping everyone has a cozy Thanksgiving with those you love. 🍁🦃🍽

Having said that, my grandmother and cousins in California saw a few seconds of our band before news broke in about a wildfire (far away from them). Some of them we still bitter 😆

A tiny rant: having marched in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, I’d be pissed at NBC for cutting away my kid’s band. I know families will get to see it in full later, but it’s just awfully disappointing. I had family watching in multiple states, the whole reason they watched. Good grief.
