Quizardry tabletop RPG from Lost In Cult.
Many moons have passed since I’d ordered Quizardry from Lost In Cult/DYKG. So long that it was a surprise upon arrival as I’d long forgotten. Despite the tardiness, this card-based “Trivia Dungeon” game looks absolutely pitch perfect. Spoof? …homage? Maybe a bit of both? The cover has me lol’ing 🤣

If you want the RAWS, or 2400dpi files that were often too large for Flickr to handle, there should be links with each file to the Internet Archive pages with the download zips: www.flickr.com/photos/histo...

I finally got the excellent 1chipMSX core running on MiSTer. And just in time. 🧛🏻♂️

In the background a mysterious figure’s outline looms ominously among the stars. “Cry Freedom” is printed in bold yellow lettering along the bottom. The game’s screenshots, title copy, and ad copy are featured under the poster art.
Totally kickass ad poster for the criminally underrated Colony Wars on PlayStation 1.

They have a fun Friday the 13th tie-in and as a bonus the box has a pretty neat GitD design. I’d post a pic but it’s funner if you see for yourself.
21.10.2025 21:22 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Image shows the cover of the Summer 1979 issue of VIDEO magazine. There is a fit woman in a gold bikini kneeling on some grass in a tropical setting. She is holding a mobile camcorder to highlight the advanced state of the art camera technology for the time. On the left side of the cover, article summaries are printed in bold white text. Vacation With Video is the featured article.
This issue of VIDEO marks the very first appearance of the first recurring column on home video games to feature in a nationally distributed consumer-focused magazine. The column was called Arcade Alley, written by Bill Kunkel and Arnie Katz, and would continue to run until the August 1984 issue.

Probably a small niche of interest here, but for what it’s worth iCode’s Arcade Spinner Ultimate works with zero configuration on Arkanoid vs Space Invaders+ on iOS Apple Arcade. Hold yellow button to move vertically, hold blue button to move horizontally. If you tinker I bet there’s better configs.
