He can’t pardon her early in exchange for giving a good testimony on Trump should he need her. She could always backtrack on that promise.

Keeping her in jail will force her to speak well of him for her freedom. This special treatment is to make her think favorably of him for when she’s needed.

Trump knows the Epstein files are coming out. When they do, he will cry victim, and have Ghislaine clear him of all the “awful lies” in exchange for a pardon. He’ll say she’s served her time and downplay her involvement with Epstein and say she got a raw deal.
