A photograph of an adobe style home in the middle of the Joshua Tree desert in California. The night sky behind it is a long exposure photograph showing the millions of stars in the night sky that can be mostly seen with the naked eye because of so little light pollution.

I was lucky many years ago to travel and stay within Joshua Tree Park in California. It was an experience that I'll never forget. Something sparked inside me during that trip and it may have been the millions upon millions of stars I saw for the first time in my life.

Sometimes I get the luck of photographing weddings for good friends. It's a job, sure, but when you're photographing people you care about it becomes something beyond a gig.

Oregon winters were normally very long where I was. This cold front we've gotten really reminds me of how it could get just outside of the peak months of cold up there.
