Got a composition book belonging to a Hong Kong primary 6 student, probably from the early 1950s. Both the student and the teacher wrote with brush pens. Although Modern Chinese was used, the writing still retained a strong flavour of the eight-legged essay. The teacher's handwriting was beautiful.
