The fact that they think scrolling a short generic essay about running makes a good video ad for their product feels related to their complete misunderstanding of humanity in general and what people.

Did I just switch back and get excited that someone had mentioned @shrimpcult.press in a post? Yes. Maybe I need more coffee. Or a weekend. Or both.

Step 1: post on the @shrimpcult.press account. Step 2: like from my personal account. Step 3: switch back to work account, get excited that someone has already liked and reposted. Step 4: realize it was me, and I literally just did it. Step 5: Feel silly.

My biggest complaint about Tron: Ares is this: It’s tough to get from North Van to downtown in 20 minutes, and there’s no way you’re making it from the Port Mann.

If anyone should be waiting for the results of the investigation, it's DHS, but they went ahead and labelled this woman a domestic terrorist without any facts or proof or anything. That's chilling.

Ha! Personalization? As if AI could personalize a recipe more than just making it your self. They’re just using whatever the chatbot spits out without question. How much do you want to bet a chatbot came up with the whole idea, from the prompt “give me an idea that will disrupt the food industry”?

Those of us in younger generations with no accumulated wealth need a sign of hope. Maybe it’s in the budget, but I haven’t seen it. Not having to pay GST on a home that is $600,000 outside my price range doesn’t inspire hope.

When an industry is doing something bad, we need to tell them they can’t anymore, even if it hurts profit, rather than inventing more and more expensive band-aids.

To be clear, I’m not saying that GLP-1 agonists aren’t useful and even a game changer for some folks. But the wide-spread need for them seems to me like the problem we should solve. It needs to be ok for solutions to dampen industry, not just to promote it.

Similarly, apartments keep getting smaller and *more expensive*. Many buildings then charge for storage. Dating is done through profit-making services. Every aspect of life is commodified, subscription-based, and double-charged. We shouldn’t accept this bullshit.

Food manufacturers make food of low quality, high appeal, and extremely cheap, which leads to an obesity epidemic. Pharmaceuticals swoop in with GLP-1 inhibitors to correct eating habits. For every artificial problem, there’s a solution you can pay for. Hooray.

Oh, to have the conviction of a dog who is outside but wants to be let in.

I don’t feel old, I’m just acutely aware of the fact that everyone else is very, very young.

The only thing I miss about Twitter is that you could always count on thousands of people to tweet about something like this. Either Bluesky is different somehow, or… I’m the only one.

Is Telus internet down for anyone else in the Vancouver area? DownDetector is showing a lot of reports, but Telus’s outage status only reports a single outage in North Van.

The poké place on UBC campus (the only *good* one) is CLOSED for reading week, and I consider it an affront to me, personally.
