Indoor farms' energy cost these days is only about 25 W/sqft. A 5x5 flower bed at 12 hrs/day would use only about 225 kWh/month. There is no way usage data alone could correctly identify a small farm. The people at the power company who came up with this scheme are too stupid to operate a utility.

Academics are always posting "I need people to understand how broken academic publishing is." Yes, we know. Even if we didn't, we could guess. Everything is broken. Looking up definitions on a search engine is broken. Paying for a cup of coffee with cash is broken. Nothing works, you aren't special.

There is a reason why "papers please" is a Nazi movie trope. You can lie to yourself about it not being inherently authoritarian, but its effect remains unchanged regardless. Think about the architecture of information flows and control points the system creates instead of hoping for benign motives.

I think they should stop remaking Star Wars (in the sense of trying to recreate the 1977 film) and start remaking Star Wars (in the sense of making an original film with an original screenplay starring mostly unknown actors not based on any existing property)
