Teslas. John Deere tractors. HP printers. Etc.
A win for everyone except them.
Calling attention to Trudeau right now offers a style contrast that does not work in Pollievre's favor. And it reminds people that Pierre's been following a very MAGA-ish tactical playbook for a very long time.
I think right now I'm hoping for a minority parliament.

His response to tariffs and threat of annexation:
1. "Knock it off" (really?)
2. But enough about the existential threat, concentrate on Justin
Problem is, IMO in his swan song Trudeau is handling the situation exactly as most Canadians would want our PM to do.

With his two main attack targets -- Justin and the carbon tax -- no longer in play, Pollievre's gone back to the old Tory tactic of obsession with Liberal scandals. But so long as Pierre refuses to get security clearance he's in no position to harp on personal flaws in opponents.

As even the most Justin-hostile premier is pulling together at a time of collective pride and defiance, Pollievre's speeches remain the same bitter, personal-attack campaign slurry that he's peddled since becoming Conservative leader.

A year ago I couldn't wait to be rid of the Canadian Liberals. Too woke, too Hamas-tolerant, too fiscally clueless, too preachy, too divergent from Canada's values as I see them.
But every time Pierre opens his mouth these days, that conviction wanes as I realize it could be worse.

The arguments presented at SCOTUS (which appear to be accepted by the court) are clear -- with precedent -- that 1st amendment rights are not availed to foreign entities.
The constitutional argument has already failed.
Jaguar is trolling everybody.
A fascinating strategy to get attention.

Interesting to see new followers, tho I haven't posted in a while. I still think Mastodon's fediverse has a better approach to speech freedom, but the main thing is to be where others are.
Anyway... Twitter refugees, welcome!
I've been watching too much Ukraine coverage. I thought they were anti-missile panels.

Much more nanny-state than Bluesky, Mastodon and others. Will nag you mid-post if you're using ... assertive ... language.
I started on a similar chart from a different perspective. Admittedly needs a lot more work but some info may be handy here.
Edits and suggestions are welcomed.

Nice chart.
Not sure what you mean by "standoffish". If that means just leaving journos alone, neither chummy nor hostile, IMO that should be optimal.
Is it even worth adding T2 to the mix?
26.08.2023 10:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0NEW: Google confirms itβs only blocking Canadian news orgs as defined under the Online News Act and would not, for example, block the New York Times or Fox News.
In effect, this change only means weβll see news produced inside Canada replaced by news produced outside of Canada.
As Meta and Google move to block news links in response to the Online News Act, our readers appear to be printing out our journalism and sharing it on telephone poles.
