The governments that starved their own people in need were never the good guys. No matter how much you twist yourself in knots to justify cutting SNAP when emergency funds exist, this is an act of evil against our fellow Americans by the Trump Administration and the Republican Doormat Congress.

Let’s get a few things straight about SNAP.

FOOD BANK DIRECTOR: “For every meal a food bank provides, the SNAP program provides 9. There’s no way we can meet that gap. We were not built to do this.”

(@TNDemocrats are imploring @GovBillLee to fund SNAP with the billions in reserves as other states are, but he refuses)

Team Newsom @governor.ca.gov is taking bold, concrete steps to reduce dependence on a chaotic federal health landscape.

California is now producing its own insulin through CalRx, an innovative and timely model that leverages their purchasing power to reduce healthcare costs for Californians.

There should never be shame in needing help from a food pantry. But this is gut-wrenching: working every day, not getting paid for weeks, and needing a food pantry you didn’t need before.

What’s shameful is that this is completely avoidable. Republicans need to get back to DC and negotiate.
