and to my knowledge indeed, only Märklin’s own Central Stations and ESU’s ECOS are command stations that are Mfx compatible. The reason behind it being that ESU is the company than developed the Central Station for Märklin (to which extend I am not sure).

Haha 😀 No but in fact not really. That post was about bus technologies, not related to the track protocol, which can be DCC or Märklin Mfx (and others). It’s a completely different system from DCC that "speaks" another language with Mfx compatible decoders. Mfx is usually used with 3-rail HO layout.

By the way, I also recently posted about using the #Märklin Mfx protocol (in addition to #DCC with Railcom Plus) in #Nscale, with my ESU ECOS II. If anyone’s ever wondered why that would be a thing 😀

FYI: Every #NMRADCC Mulifunction decoder has an NMRA assigned Manufacturer ID number burned into it. It can be read from CV8. Software such as DecoderPro can identify a decoder using this CV.

Wiring a Programming Track for DCC A track set aside for programming locomotives in Service Mode. It may or may not be part of the layout.

Programming sound equipped multifunction decoders may require a program track booster. Modern command stations eliminated the need with more power to the program track outputs.

Twisting the DCC Power Bus It is not necessary to twist the track power bus wires together. Track Power Bus wires should be kept close together, which can be easily achieved by twisting them together. Tying them with a cable ti...

Topic with many opinions on #modelrailroad forums: Twisting the Bus, and how much. Actually, the purpose is impedance reduction, eliminating other issues in the process.
