I believe there is a USSF PLS rule not league, that two teams in the same league cannot have the same primary owner.
Whether or not, if they could or wanted to perhaps they could have a proxy be the primary owner but that seems to depend on the situation and what USSF is willing to let you do.

In the US Open Cup there is about a 5 month gap in the middle of the tournament where only 1 game is played.
This is to accommodate MLS who wants to use the summer dates for Leagues Cup, friendlies etc.
I wonder if they had to agree to a similar deal with NWSL in order to get them to participate.

If it’s Professional League Standards make sure it’s actually about establishing various levels professional soccer. Not about where you are, or are not allowed to place a team.

For me I don’t necessarily care about higher standards exactly but that the standards actually address work conditions and compensation and spend less time on market size, time zones, specificity of type of ownership group.
