The profound level of disrespect NWSL broadcasters have shown for the players, teams, fans, and sport itself in 2025 has to change.

I've mentioned this before but at that top tier, the referees all come together in Dallas or Salt Lake City every couple weeks for fitness testing, field sessions and technical/theory sessions for the topics du jour in MLS. PRO2 refs don't get that and it would help tremendously if they did.

Part of investment is investing in refereeing. I know it doesn't feel like it, but the refs and players are more aligned than not. These owners will suppress wages and hire the less qualified refs to save 10 bucks. That's a problem. Well trained and paid refs are the best refs. Imperfect, but good.

It’s never lost on me that NWSL pays for PRO2 level referees because they can’t/won’t pay for the PRO level and at some point, all the owners in the league are going to need to talk about that if they want to be serious

We will contribute to paying any fine Trin receives because it needed to be said! Player safety is paramount and that includes top tier refereeing.
