There are many full face gas masks available. They can start as low as under $30. Extra cartridges should be bought also. They will protect your eyes, and lungs, from pepper spray, tear gas and other weaponized irritants.

A sturdy, or sometimes called tactical umbrella, is effective at deflecting anything sprayed at you, including, pepper spray, tear gas and even water. They can be had for under $50. If it is not a sturdy umbrella it will break. Buy accordingly.

A 200mph rated cordless leaf blower can be had for even $50. Higher end units will be more expensive. They are great for blowing pepper spray, even from pepper bullets, away from your vicinity; and, can be used the same way for tear gas. Make sure to have at least one extra battery.

Foam ear plugs are a cheap, yet effective, way to keep tear gas, or pepper spray, from getting into the ear canal; which, can be painful. A box of 50 is somewhere around $5 or so. The only drawback is hearing. If you are able, good noise suppressing ear protection, the kind used for shooting, can be had for $20+ and can have the added bonus of actually boosting sound. As long as they fit snugly, they should keep most of any kind of irritant from entering the ear canal.

There are a few items that can be very useful when confronted by the likes of ICE; or, at a protest where gas, pepper or water is to be used against you.
