He loves to leave that out of his "rags to riches" story on dropping out of college to ship his first game... The more you know!
Ahhh! That's terrible. Hope it's not too serious and get well soon!
07.06.2025 08:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Let me tell you how even what people arguing in bad faith would call "core roles" like engineering get skipped from the credits occasionally just because it was outsourced...

I think I did a pretty good job, considering I rarely get into custom characters.
I predicted that deflection but will allow it this time

02.11.2024 15:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0CoD has already reframed US war crimes as having been committed by the other side in previous campaigns. So this kind of fictional device can feel a little more like intentional revisionism rather than a fun attempt at alternative history. Either way, it made me deeply uncomfortable throughout.

But I'm also really wary of praising jingoistic media where the central plot point is a "what if" scenario where Saddam Hussein actually had WMDs, even if it's tied to the 1st Gulf War & not post 9/11.
Ah, that makes more sense. The article made it seem like this was fixing a small part of a wider problem.
I guess I've also just never heard anyone online talk about the joys of these systems interacting like they did in prior games either so I assumed they were just non-existent.
I was today years old when I learned that the latest Bethesda game doesn't have schedules and routines for their NPCs? Like, the main thing people find interesting about those games?!
Who exactly was Starfield even for?

Ran like a dream! 90 fps at max settings native res. Just an incredibly well made game. Totally deserved to keep that team together, even if for another project. They were firing on all cylinders, even if I found the game a little too willing to follow genre tropes.
22.10.2024 20:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Absolutely a methodically executed and superbly polished entry into this genre which deserved a sequel where the team could then take a few more risks.
But the original also did leave me a little cold. No obvious flaws but definitely a sense of having been here before. Played a little too safe.
A Metroidvania priced at AAA levels with no Steam release was an inspired publishing move.
It took me 90 minutes to get uPlay functional on my Steamdeck just to play this on holiday. Miserable experience that was worth it in the end. But I can't blame others who weren't willing to give it a try.
IKR?! Going to see how the LinkedIn crew responds to this once in post it there also lol. Should be an interesting litmus test.

While the jury is still out on Bluesky, at least I don't have people here signing off their DMs in the most unhinged, boomer-stylings imaginable.
Sexist? Potentially homophobic? A sin against good grammar? Pick your descriptor.
Careful, last time I saw these guys get involved with a game, giant black holes started sucking up everything in the vicinity.
19.10.2024 15:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0All of the towns in Final Fantasy XVI are like 3 blocks wide. Unless it's a primary story quest in a major capital at which point they're all funnelled corridors with expansive set dressing.
This game desperately needs a Novigrad equivalent to make the world feel actually lived in.
Threads feels like a fake social media network from an open-world game. Itβs all the vapid shit that writers clown on when putting something like that into a game, itβs just missing the part where people talk about whatever the fuck Spider-Man did in the last mission.
06.07.2023 19:16 β π 393 π 69 π¬ 16 π 4I regret installing it out of curiosity now I know you can't delete it without getting rid of your Instagram account... Scummy move.
06.07.2023 16:57 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Threads is horrific. Truly just your Facebook feed. Even changing settings to only show my followers doesn't rid my feed of clickbait trash, corporate accounts or random celebrities.
5m sign ups in a few hours is insane though and they risk being the incumbent upstart without bluesky opening up.
Final Fantasy XVI is weirdly conservative in a lot of ways.
However, the integration of UI elements, especially move names, in combat is both an amazing bit of nostalgia and effective attack telegraph.
The summons especially feel beautifully modernized & seamless with the real time gameplay.

Instead of fireworks, Canada decided to have a short flash of massive thunderstorms to celebrate July 4th.
My cat approves of neither. Luckily she found a great spot to seek shelter and wait out the weather...
They're very unique! Require a little more love, care and cleaning than your standard cat but it's well worth the effort :)
