We had a dog who did that for any flying insect, including flies. He was a rescue dog, we think originally brought from Spain so we wondered if he had been stung at some point by a nasty flying creature. He certainly wouldnβt stay in the same room as a fly!

I have a copy on order. Looking forward to receiving it. There is quite a bit of Lincolnshire in my roots and I often land (virtually) around churches I hadnβt heard of before whilst doing research.

I snapped a blurry shot from the moving car on the drive home last October. I wasnβt driving!
I didnβt know what it was at the time and we hadnβt spotted it on the drive up (in the misty, mizzly rain of storm whoever!).

Booky McBookface the big blue Mobile Library vehicle parked on the pier at Tingwall. The sea is in the background with the island of Rousay on the horizon.
It's a cool February morning in #Orkney and #BookyMcBookface is away on the ferry to the beautiful islands of Rousay and Egilsay. π
Rousay is known as the 'Egypt of the North' due to its incredible density of archaeological sites including neolithic tombs, chambered cairns and Viking remains.

Or parents living with them in their later years. Or a neice/nephew born before marriage living with them. Orβ¦.. There is just so much to discover, and sometimes key answers, when you cast the net a little wider.

I love researching siblings of direct ancestors. I often seem to find the most interesting stories down those branches and the characters who get under my skin so I need to know more and dig deeper.

As soon as I saw Sutton Bridge I was interested, our gateway to Norfolk when going on holiday as a child. And a Gt Gt Gt Grandfather lived on Roman Bank in Lutton. Also I have friends living on the Cambridgeshire fens. So I can really feel being out there.

The church featured in a family tree I was working on for a friend and I have had a soft spot for it ever since. I really should get up there to see it in person.

A couple of circumnavigations (I take my journeys slow and steady) but finally landed this evening.
What a ride! I was soon consulting maps, exploring the lanes. Spent my dreams hovering over the fens.

How 'unique' Spurn peninsula is being repaired by nature
A wildlife trust feared Spurn would become an island after a tidal surge in 2013.
Good to see continuing recovery of Spurn Point after the tidal surge. I remember the times Dad drove us down to the end, it seemed a remote, wild place then. Even with people still living down there.
