Hmmm I would disagree. I hear a lot of his comments and he generally protects his players a lot. This statement he made is a bit misconstrued. He's stating some obvious realities, and if anything, by saying there is nothing "technical" with Palmer, it would empower Palmer more. My $0.02.

Chronic Pulmonary Aspergillosis and Nontuberculous Mycobacterial Pulmonary Disease: Two Peas in a Pod We thank Denning and Kosmidis for reading our review on nontuberculous pulmonary disease (NTM-PD) and bringing attention to chronic pulmonary aspergillosis (CPA) [cite Denning and Kosmidis. Letter to the Editor]. Indeed, it is not uncommon for patients with NTM-PD to have co-infections with other pathogens, such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and/or Aspergillus species. We agree that CPA is an important disease that can co-occur with NTM-PD, increasing management complexity and portending poorer outcomes.

@idsky.bsky.social How do we boost the profile of ID amongst the public to understand what we really do?

Most people I speak to think we just deal with epidemics. What are places doing to put a united face of ID expertise out to the public?

Was gifted this book over the holidays.
Highly recommend.

My favorite part is the teachings of the Buddha
β€œConquer anger through gentleness, unkindness through kindness, greed through generosity, and falsehood by truth”

But not to conquer others but ourselves: Our own anger, ill temper, and lies.

1. How are you dosing amikacin in these patients?
2. Do you have specific peak goals?
3. Do you omit amikacin entirely?

If possible, you're willing to share protocols, that'd be extremely helpful!
