30.10.2025 15:14 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Considering how bad most new clothing in America is, I predict:
Instead of Japanese buyers coming to America to buy vintage Ralph, Eddie and LLB, we'll have American buyers going to Japan to buy vintage Uniqlo, Workman and Montbell.

23.10.2025 21:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Lol @ plastic bag cut into dress shapes. You know some Demna or JW is gonna put it out, shameless price tag included, in the name of irony.
23.10.2025 21:19 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0You make a good point, and the next step of that is a $1300 premium mediocre logo hoodie that is fundamentally indistinguishable from the $13 Shein. YouTube is already full of high-budget, carefully edited slop with entire teams behind it.
23.10.2025 18:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I've seen it in some stores, but distribution is patchy and many stores/countries will only get portions of the collection.
23.10.2025 18:34 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Muji Labo since 2023 has been headed by Naoki Takizawa, who was the secret man-behind-the-scenes for Uniqlo U and Ines collaborations.

For those who miss the old Uniqlo U (back when materials weren't all plastic) you should look towards Muji Labo.
This season they're offering a coat with 78% wool, 11% cashmere and 11% nylon for around $300. This is seriously impressive.
This came from a previous thread on all the Yohji references in Lemaire.
22.10.2025 14:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've been saying this for a while, Lemaire is directly inspired by Yohji Yamamoto. I don't know why nobody else has said it in public. So I'm talking about it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0iK...
22.10.2025 14:09 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It takes an excruciating amount of time to synthesize a compelling argument. Without that all you can really do is regurgitate common knowledge from the first page of Google, not much different from ChatGPT.
15.10.2025 19:44 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As a YouTuber myself, I now understand why most YouTube videos now feel like slop.
There is no way one can create a thoughtful video while uploading once or multiple times a week. You only have a few hours to research/write and the rest of the week is spent recording and editing.

09.10.2025 17:45 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The Y2K aesthetic revival is really just a Hot Topic revival. But underneath it is a very real urge for meaning and creative expression.
As a Gen Z myself it's frustrating to finally grow up and have money; yet all the things we longed after as a kid on the internet are now long gone.
Been thinking about the erosion of the fashion scene, I think this article described it well.
"No one has to be evil or stupid: the platform does whatโs profitable, sellers do what works, buyers try to make smart decisions, and yet the whole system degrades into something nobody actually wants."
Carhartt WIP quietly put out their store page for the Sacai collab releasing this Friday. The design is quite good, prices are high but going from previous drops everything is made in Sacai's factories in Japan. us.carhartt-wip.com/en-us/journa...
30.09.2025 14:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Incredibly depressing that "promoting the enduring artistic qualities of complexity, ambiguity, and innovation" can only be understood as "snobbery," which denotes "taste discrimination by people with status anxiety."
www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...
Do not confuse style with fashion. Style is derived from the real needs of a client or society. Fashion is a superficial condition adopted by those anxious to appear elegant or sophisticated.

28.09.2025 19:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I don't believe Lemaire has ever used waterproof zips in his own line. It's everywhere in this UU collection.
25.09.2025 16:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Went to see Uniqlo U FW25 in person for launch. The block tech outerwear were better made than I expected, especially women's. I also liked the denim and the twill shirts.
However I feel confused because this collection doesn't feel like Lemaire. It feels like Veilance or Daiwa.
There's a ton of tiny design details, like the neckties integrated into the placket, to traditional Japanese cultural references to Judo and the Kimono. What's more impressive is he did it being outside of the mainstream fashion system, from his education to the stores he works with.

A lot of people think LVMH prize winner Soshiotsuki is just a styling exercise, lacks substance, etc.
As someone who's been following them before they won, Soshiotsuki is legit. They're a love letter to Showa-era Japan, you won't get the references if you don't know the history. #fashionsky

When I saw the quilted coats and jackets in YYPH FW25 I thought they were hideous. They looked like 1930s starving farmer wear.
But seeing Yohji's shop staff wear it I'm having that magical moment where it clicks and I go from hate to love. There's a certain power and charm in the details.
Which is why I don't talk too much about individual pieces in my videos. To the chagrin of some I'm sure.
21.09.2025 17:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0To me, understanding the ideas and stories behind clothing are much more interesting and ultimately fulfilling than just shopping. I don't want to create grails for my viewers, I want them to pick things themselves.
