This morning russians destroyed a historic building in the center of Kyiv.Every day on my way to work I pass by this building,have a coffee near it and go to work with occupied Crimea.Every day we monitor the persecution, human rights violations by russians against our citizens in occupied Crimea.

22 km from Paranal, the Cerro Armazones Observatory (3060m) is getting ready to welcome our biggest eye on the sky! The European Extremely Large Telescope 🔭 (with a primary mirror of 39 m diameter) will start operations in 2028! The construction site is already very... sorry... extremely impressive!

Possible aurora Monday night into Tuesday morning! I'm expecting clouds around here but maybe some of you will get lucky.

I witnessed 3 in 2024 so I won't be too disappointed.

Comet in January! Keep your eyes peeled and 🔭 at the ready for the rare chance to spot Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS).

Closest approach: January 13th.

Still hard to tell yet, it could be a tricky one to spot and we mightn't see it at all. Worth keeping it on the calendar though!
