Yeah, it's not like evangelical churches have been dumping hundreds of millions of dollars into hard right lobbying for forty years and controlling the reigns of power in regressive red states.

The DNC would rather see a Trump presidency than run anyone left of center-right. A Trump presidency won't hurt them or their billionaire donor base. A progressive presidency absolutely would.

If you're not familiar with it, I *highly* recommend Ancillary Justice by Anne Leckie or the Red Rising series by Pierce Anthony. Two of the best contemporary sci-fi series, imo. Both very far future based hard scifi.
