As a reminder. You are always free to choose empathy. And to sustain a norm of concern and kindness for those most in need. It isn't weakness. It makes you strong. Think tree roots supporting each other through mycelium strands of connection, communication, and relief.

If I were in charge of the human body's Department of Government Efficiency, I'd cut 90% of the brain's energy budget. It's 2% of our body mass but uses 20% of our energy? Ridiculous

This article hints at ill intent underlying this disinfecting behavior. Even if true (and I strongly doubt ill intent), and even if (or especially if) there were earlier questionable practices or even outright fraud, the act and bravery from self-directed public transparency should be applauded.

The academic world I want to live in is the one where scholars spend 100s of hours self correcting. I have deep admiration for Juliana and the work she has done bringing to light some of the challenges in her earlier work. Iβm amazed at her humility.

Sign I may be past the βyoung and relatableβ professor era of my career - few students now recognize the TV clips I use. Today, only 2/48 students recognized the negotiation clip from 30 Rock, though more had seen the office and at least a quarter had seen the 1987 movie Wall Street.

Excited to finally be making the jump over here. Any clever content will come from my new(ish) collaborator! A preemptive apology for his harsh peer reviews. If a paper doesnβt have a truck or dinosaur on it, heβs not interested.
