This is interesting but it doesn't provide info on how to access the actual study. Neither the authors or the journal in mentioned by name.

a man with a big wig is waving at the camera . Alt: From Babylon 5. Vir Cotto waving at the severed head of Morden. I'd like to live just long enough to be there when they cut off your head and stick it on a pike as a warning to the next ten generations that some favors come with too high a price. I would look up at your lifeless eyes and wave like this. [gives a mockingly cheerful finger waggle] Can you and your associates arrange this for me, Mr. Morden?

A rebuttal to NIH leadership's screed against pandemic preparedness. Dr. Angela Rasmussen joins Inside Medicine for a tag-team response to a poorly reasoned essay by NIH Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and his deputy, Dr. Matthew Memoli.

We've got a MASSIVE DEEP-DIVE rebuttal to the NIH leadership’s recent essay. They're arguing for a head-in-the-sand approach to pandemic preparedness.

The great @angierasmussen.bsky.social joins me in an extraordinarily detailed, line-by-line fact check.

In a happy turn of events. The feral cat I've been feeding in my backyard meowed at me for the first time this morning. Still not letting me get within arms reach though.

This is how "sexual and gender minorities" developed. Back in the early 2000's gay and transgender were being flagged at NIH and people looked for new terminology.

Just out! Our peer-reviewed critique of the Cass Review has been published by BMC Medical Research Methodology. Please read and share. We show that the Cass Review is fatally flawed and should not be the basis for policy or practice in transgender healthcare.

Ten national unions and dozens of locals representing more than 3 million members have issued a joint statement demanding the release of immigrant workers recently snatched by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The statement names farmworker union leader Alfredo β€œLelo” Juarez, who was picked up in what appears to be blatant retaliation for his organizing; SEIU Local 925 member Lewelyn Dixon, a University of Washington lab technician detained on her way home from visiting family; SEIU Local 509 member Rumeysa Ozturk, a graduate student whose detention by federal agents was captured in chilling footage; sheet metal worker Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, a SMART Local 100 apprentice who was sent to El Salvador’s notorious prison complex; and United Auto Workers Local 2710 member Mahmoud Khalil, abducted by federal agents in front of his eight-months-pregnant wife.

The unions are also calling on employers, university administrators, and local governments to refuse to cooperateβ€”and demanding that elected officials β€œfind their spines.”

This is great, but sadly most ACT UP chapters outside of New York have disbanded.

Here's my piece on the suggestions ACT UP LA activists have for people forming new groups. Especially relevant as Trump plans massive HIV prevention funding cuts.
