It is absolutely covered in red mud, because it's so low to the ground and looks like it should be dragging its belly through every last little thing.

I must admit that I have no true love in my heart for quadruped battlemechs. The design of the Scorpion does nothing for me, and every step of this paint job vexed me. I think it came out okay, but mostly because I covered it in mud. Anyway, on to the next thing!

I ended up cutting it off with a little saw and gluing it back in place after painting and drilling out the base. It honestly helped it look a lot more natural and less like it's hovering there.
