I strolled into a mall for the first time in maybe 20 years. Remind me not to do that again. I don’t know what I expected but fifteen bucks for a bowl of noodles and hundreds of stores full of nothing I’d buy wasn’t it.

From the Workshop of Horrors ( I haven't cleaned it in some time), the annual Halloween Model Project is ready to race.

Godzilla's Go Kart was originally released in 1966, making it older than most of us, but this is a recent repop. You can almost hear the sputter of the under powered motor.

You’re not alone. Art (painting, writing, photography, model making, even acting) is a solitary venture. The hard part is sharing it in a noisy world. Most of my Art Life friends are online. You made a new friend today. Hope that counts.

But you recognize it which means you can rise above it. And remember this: every successful person out there, actor, doctor, artist, whatever, is someone who did not give up. So don’t give up. Ever.

Closest I got? A 2x4 roped between the limbs of a mimosa tree in front of our building in Brooklyn and weird looks from the neighbors.

Currently, where I am in NYC, it’s an all-too-early 82 degrees.

Suddenly it’s Iced Coffee Season where you pay more for adding frozen water to your latte.

It started as a quiet afternoon in the meadow. But then Ollie found the wagon.

One of my wish list daydreams: finding myself in a quaint European seaside town in the spring, tooling around on a vintage Vespa.

Since I’m in a midcentury modern mood, this is the image that came to life.

I did manage to write three new scenes for a story I’m working on between sips of alka seltzer. This counts as today’s win.

One of my artistic outlets is a picture book series featuring this little guy. Ollie is a five-legged spider who lives for mischief and adventure.

He makes up these silly holidays for you to forget about the world outside.

I saw this during a meditation. I was deep under, enjoying the nothingness when this materialized.
