Workflow/pipeline: It is a leaky, flawed process that misfires frequently, prone to delays & redundant, time consuming effort. It requires effort from an overtaxed system. It is frustrating for all and would benefit from a reset. Most of all, patients deserve better.

AFTER you assemble your DME packet for an order, then comes the 80s era experience of ‘sending it’ via fax technology. Yep. Billions of dollars of orders depend on handwritten, reprinted/appended documents sent to another agency/vendor. What does that look like?

To order *any* DME item, you need to complete three different documents that contain redundant info. Do any part wrong and…well, you’ll see. Each ‘order’ requires time and HANDWRITTEN STUFF on paper. Take info from the EMR and TRANSCRIBE it. Good use of time, right?
