Better to win any election available. Musk is drawing back after the Wisconsin vote

When I’m not lifeguarding, teaching the Gokhale Method or yoga I enjoy sailing, cold water swimming & gardening.

30.03.2025 21:35 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Brexit cost the U.K. economy £37 billion a year. Being a zealot, facts don’t matter perhaps?
29.03.2025 07:38 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0You are absolutely correct about the rightwing governments, a result of the first past the post voting system. Even England is not as right wing as the governments FPTP has produced.
It is probable that Scotland will become dependant - but brace yourself for the hard border.
Who will you vote for?
29.03.2025 07:26 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This is a PR stunt by Octopus. The last thing either Scotland or England needs is another Brexit type event. A hard border would hurt people north and south of it.

They want change - are the Democrats ready to offer this? And in what form?
I’m not Canadian, but this makes me wish I was.

A growing majority of voters here in the U.K. realise Brexit was a big mistake.
At least in the U.S. you will be able to make a difference in the mid terms - provided there is a credible alternative to vote for.
Weirdly Trump & co are helping undo Brexit - slowly.
Patience, the house would not vote to impeach. They may both richly deserve it but for now it’s support each other, organise protest, reach out to their “soft” supporters and build towards the mid terms.
04.03.2025 16:10 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Totally true. Peaceful protest is a great way of making friends, building community and developing the ideas and strategy that can start to turn things around in 2 & 4 years time. Even then porotest and political activism will still be needed.

Reading this article confirms that there are real downsides.
Or Dogurday, my rescue dog is a bundle of mischief, joy & love. I’d love a cat, not sure they’d appreciate the dog madness.

Tell that to the electoral college. Trump was eminently beatable - Biden’s vote dropped significantly compared to 2020. Harris was a weak candidate with nothing of note to offer ordinary people struggling to pay the bills on $7.50 an hour.
