The book is so important to me but I'm not sure I've seen the adaptation! If I have it must have been eons ago

Last night was #OrangesAreNotTheOnlyFruit - one of those archive shows that just quietly had a 95% female cast, about 50% older actors, and no-one notices because it's also 100% queer representation. Still a powerful piece of TV because it's so knotty and honest.

Comic panels showing Swamp Thing looking at his hands then walking away sadly. Thought bubbles read: "It's just a shame that a man with the genius to create such a device had to mad as well. But I guess being shunned by a whole world can be quite a burden on a man's mind. Yeah... So tell me about it, world, just tell me about it."

This is heresy, I know, but I read all the bronze age Swamp Thing a while back and I enjoyed it just as much - if not more! - than Alan Moore's run.

Wein & Wrightson era Swampy isn't mystical, he's just depressed in a very relatable way.

I finally finished this Enterprise D LCARS cross stitch! Was supposed to take about a year, but longcovid had other plans for my brain and ability to count. So it's been over four years instead. It has a bazillion-jillion stitches in it.

Full comic page showing Cliff and Rita complaining, Niles Caulder telling them to get over it, then Larry walks in and joins them in complaining, telling Caulder if they don't blow off steam they will explode, Caulder finally agrees.

Four-panel image-led graphic. Left panels show David Attenborough wearing a beige jacket, seated outdoors beside reeds and water, smiling and gesturing behind him. Right panels show close-up photos of a beaver swimming and standing upright among tall reeds. Bold yellow caption text across the panels reads: β€œIf someone had told me when I first moved here that one day I would be watching wild beavers in London, I would have thought they were mad. But there they are, right behind me. Happily going about their own business.”

A prairie river valley with reddish grasses, poplar gullies, and corrugated coulees, near Lethbridge

When my Churchlands/Five Deserts novelette Fletcher's Flights comes out, this is the landscape I'm talking about and I'd like to think I've painted it right. The whole bloodsoaked lonesome thing's a love letter to the coulees of Alberta. The land's as much a character as anyone.
