The artwork shows a ceremony on a patio. There's a round pool in the center of the image and a round arch in the background. Sisters of the convent are placed in different locations performing different parts of the ritual. Half of them wear a peacock mask and half of them wear sun-like headpieces. There's a woman in the center on the horse. She wears a blue dress decorated with mosaic-like patterns. The horse is covered with blue patterns and stands still above the water. Two twins are sitting on the floor surrounded by large lilies. Behind them one sister plays a harp and another one is holding two bowls with mysterious light. There's a big mosaic tree in the background with other sisters dancing around it. There are two other sisters on top of the wall waving scarves. The artwork is mostly blue and light green

The artwork shows a wedding party. The room is decorated with tiles and patterns and has a long table in the center where the attendees of the party are seated. There are dancers in the foreground, some broken plates, bowls, bottles, apples and eggs on the floor. There is a donkey standing in the center of the room. The donkey was gifted to the wedded. There are musicians behind the dancers. One is playing a domra and another one is playing an accordion. There are dishes and bottles on the table. A child is holding a flower while eating an apple on the left side of the image. A man is giving a toast. A woman next to him is looking at the man while holding a rooster. The bride is wearing a white dress with her face covered with veil. She is holding flowers. The broom is standing next to her with a sword in one hand. Another woman is looking at a man who seems to be a little tipsy. Half of the characters are skeletons and half are humans. The artwork is mostly red, green and blue.

The image shows a scene inside an old house with two repeating characters and their story. The house is decorated with wooden patterns and has three floors with stairs leading to each floor. In the foreground the couple is hugging each other; in the middle ground the man is sitting on the sofa reading a newspaper and the woman is walking up the stairs looking at the room below. On the second room the woman is facing the direction of her partner's study. She looks frozen and is standing next to a dresser with a clock on it. On the left side the man is sitting at his desk looking behind his shoulder. On the third floor the same woman is looking in the mirror and sees her reflection as a skeleton. The artwork is decorated with patterns and tiles and is mostly mustard, brown and green.

The artwork shows a boat with travelers passing through a town. There are three people on the boat. They wear large brown hats and long robes. There are some pagodas and buildings in the background behind green mountains. There are some hills with plants and large orchids. There's a green and white heron on the left side of the image and some ducks in the water on the right side of the image. The artwork is mostly green and brown with some pops of pink color.

The image shows a room with tall windows and stairs leading to a bathroom below. There's a woman with red hair reaching towards a dollhouse. The woman is an original character of the commissioner. On the right side from the window there's a wall with decorated arch around it and some paintings hanging on the wall. On the first level there's a bathtub with a man laying in it. The bathtub is partially covered by a divider. The artwork is mostly pink and mint with lots of patterns.

Ah, the title and subtitle. A short book devoted to a single Icelandic saga, and titled to invoke Melville's Pierre; or, The Ambiguities. I love that claim to complexity, psychological and other, for the medieval work. I'd like to write on Grettir in this fashion (but can't).

so many authors in discussion of this say they have low employability (like me)
I made the bargain of low income in exchange for time to write: am experienced in how to live low-income. Even so, options get cut off as you accumulate injuries; poverty traps catch you; you don't grow more employable.
