If you’re going to create something in the Star Trek universe a basic adherence to the canon that other creators worked hard to establish before you should be ahered to imo. You can do wondrous new things while not harming what came before - that’s what TNG, DS9, VOY all did.

I try not to think much about Nintendo the company when it comes to my appraisal of these games - the people working there are the ones who made these games what they are. They deserve the praise. Nintendo EPD Tokyo especially

This is the second version of this piece with touched up line art and more texture work.

DONKEY KONG BANANZA MANGA v.2

So many small things bugged me about the first version of this so I fixed ‘em!

Digital drawing of tokusatsu inspired alternate universe redesigns of Superman and Batman based on designs created by incredible artist Thomas N. Perkins IV. The two of them have matching suits with tons of small differing details that relate directly to their original western superhero designs but retaining enough similarities to obviously be partners in crimefighting ala Kamen Rider 1 and 2. I don't quite remember what the text in the background means or where it came from since I drew this in May of 2020 but I assume it relates to Perkins' original piece? I couldn't say for sure. Either way the heroes are poised to battle some off-screen kaijin no doubt causing trouble underneath an easily filmable overpass somewhere on the outskirts of Tokyo.

Last late-night throwback for tonight: This fanart of @tnperkins4.bsky.social tokusatsu AU Superman and Batman! I fell in love with these designs the instant my eyes landed on them and I just HAD to draw them myself

You can almost extrapolate their entire story off just the designs, can't you?

From left to right: Sarus, a Vulcan Xenolinguist studying 20th and 21st Century Earth slang and colloquialism who has gotten completely lost in the sauce. Currently in this piece he's showcasing "The Shocker" to the other two dispassionately. Bron Hawkind, a hulking idiot half-elf with a heart of gold and a voice exactly like Patrick Warburton. He is both confused and deeply suspicious of the information being presented to him. Luigi... y'know. From the games. I played him as an escort mission NPC in a Super Mario-themed Space Kings game I ran for the M-Class Discord at the time. In this piece he's aghast and horrified at Sarus' graphic but clinical explanation. And then a staff for some reason? I think I was teasing a character I was gonna play in an upcoming game who was based on Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, but I never got to play him. Anyway, I really like the cartoonyness of this one a lot, still.
