FactFind: What happened when Mairead McGuinness voted against EU refugee rescue missions in 2019? McGuinness and her fellow Fine Gael MEPs faced heavy criticism from opposition politicians at the time.

McGuinness' 2019 vote against an EU Parliament resolution to resume search and rescue efforts for shipwrecked refugees trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea is one of her political choices that's likely to come up during the campaign. jrnl.ie/6763396

First apple tree to blossom in the collection of heritage apples at work. A variety called 'Widow's Friend'. Looks like 'Barnack Beauty' will be second as it's just about to blossom. Photos to follow when it happens.

Yeah, my other half has a Kobo and loves it. I'm just trying to repurpose this older piece of kit instead of binning it. Supposedly very much possible to not use Amazon just have to do more research.

They're definitely not happy with him,it took away from what should have been a really good day for the Soc Dems. How he thought it wouldn't be brought up,or that he could lie about the dates of when he divested, is beyond me.Very hard to hide anything like that in politics theses days, thankfully.

A $34,000 repair bill caused by potholes and they still think the thing is 'amazing'. That would never happen to a Hilux

The idea of a "rotating Taoiseach" is utter bollocks.
Elect either the leader of the biggest party or the best person in government parties suited to the job, then shut up and get on with it.
It's the most important job in Ireland, not a time-share for fragile entitled egos.

One question to try to answer after the election is, Why such a low turnout of voters? Do you think voting over a whole weekend would make things any better? Polls open early on Saturday and close late on sunday? #GE24

Putting him up beside reps from the 3 biggest parties in the country. Just not right. He gets way too much airtime for the size of his party. PBP-Solidarity on 3 seats. Why not have Richard Boyd Barrett on.

Why is Peadar Tóbín on @news.rte.ie again beside representatives from SF, FG & FF. Aontu on 2 seats so far. Why not Ivana Bacik or Cian O'Callaghan. Media need to stop giving him so much airtime. Or at least give him airtime in proportion to his electoral success #GE24

Ah no, that is a real pity. Both about the Ballyteague Peated and just in general about the Waterford Distillery. I really hope they find some resolution. New buyer. Something. The concept was new and interesting. Maybe too new for the Whisk(e)y market.

I love this part. Juicing with some modern variety dessert apples and some Bramley for that acidic zing on the palate. Some might have found its way into a fermenting bucket too. Updates to follow.
